Losing a pet at home can be an overwhelming experience. Here is what to do step by step:
1. Take a moment
Allow yourself time to grieve and say goodbye. It is okay to sit with your pet, talk to them or simply be still. There is no rush.
2. Ensure your pet is at rest
Lay them on a blanket or towel in a cool, quiet area of your home. If possible, gently close their eyes and position them naturally. You may want to wrap them in a favourite blanket.
3. Contact us
When you’re ready, get in touch with Peaceful Paws at info@peacefulpawspetcrematorium.co.uk. We can talk you through the next steps and arrange for collection from your home.
4. Keep them cool
If there’s a delay before we can collect your pet, it’s best to keep the room as cool as possible. If needed, place cool packs (wrapped in a towel) beneath their body to slow natural changes.
5. We’ll take care of the rest
Once your pet is in our care, we’ll treat them with dignity and guide you through your cremation options — with no pressure and plenty of support.
Let us help you through this difficult time with the assurance that your pet will be in caring hands.
At Peaceful Paws Pet Crematorium, we provide caring and respectful services for your cherished companion.
